Light oak, brass and a lot of daylight
This Tustin kitchen is built around one material decision: light oak shaker
cabinets, top and bottom, in a single finish that runs the full U of the room.
The hardware is brass throughout — round knobs on the doors, bar pulls on the
drawers — and the upper cabinets reach a tray ceiling with crown moulding, so
the room keeps its height rather than stopping at a soffit.
The sink sits under the window in the middle of the U, with a crystal
chandelier over it and sheer curtains either side. The counters are a cream
stone with a soft vein, and the backsplash is a glazed white subway tile laid
horizontally to the underside of the wall cabinets.
